Gink and Gasonline Review of the Mystic 3WT Switch Rod

Gink and Gasonline Review of the Mystic 3WT Switch Rod

“The Mystic M-3113-4 is my Goldilocks rod. It’s just right. The quality of this rod struck me as soon as I took it out of the tube. It is very nicely finished and the reel seat hardware is nicer than what comes on some rods that cost twice what the Mystic does”.

“Fishing switch rods has put me on fish I was missing before. They have allowed me to reach water that was off limits, fish deep runs more effectively and manage drifts like never before. I even got Kent turned on to two handers, which he previously had little interest in. The results speak for themselves. Switch rods have definitely changed the way I fish for trout.”

Cutthroats Galore - Mystic 9'3 6 WT M Series Fly Rod Review

Cutthroats Galore - Mystic 9'3 6 WT M Series Fly Rod Review

“It is surprising to me that many people haven’t heard of Michigan based Mystic fly rods, as every one of their rods I have cast have been exceptional and have great value”.

“What the M Series 9’3″ good for: Trout between 14″-25″, can distance cast well, light saltwater use for sea run cutthroat and coho jacks, windy conditions, single hand spey casting, stripping flies, overall a forgiving and easy to cast, versatile trout rod.

I wouldn’t recommend: Larger coho and other salmon, summer steelhead, while it could handle smaller specimens no problem, I think a ten pound coho or summer would have it’s way with this rod.”

Cutthroats Galore Reviews Mystic 8WT Switch Rod

Cutthroats Galore Reviews Mystic 8WT Switch Rod

“In my opinion the 11’3 Mystic 8 wt switch rod rivals the TCX (and I love the TCX switches), Z axis, NRX, Helios or any other high end, expensive rod in performance. This rod (and no other either…yeah I’m talking about you Sintrex) is not the second coming of fly rods, it will not make you cooler, grow a bigger cock, give you more rich friends, nor can you name drop Mystic. This rod however is a fun to fish 8 weight switch rod with very good value for the money.”

Michigan Fly - Reviews on the Mystic Tremor Fly Rod

Michigan Fly - Reviews on the Mystic Tremor Fly Rod

“First and foremost the Tremor fly rod is one of the best looking, aesthetically pleasing rods on the market. The blue blank, with blue thread wraps and violet trim bands are absolutely beautiful”.

     “Here are my thoughts:

    • First and foremost the Tremor is one of the best looking, aesthetically pleasing rods on the market.  The blue blank, with blue thread wraps and violet trim bands are absolutely beautiful.
    • Rod is very light in hand and is not fatiguing
    • One area that the rod excels in is it’s “lifting power” – the 8wt rod easily lifts 7″ flies and heavy 300 grain sink tips up and out of the water to start a backcast.
    • The rod loads exceptionally easy – after the lift up of the bug/line – 1 simple backcast was plenty enough to deliver the fly accurately and at relatively long distances.”

    Knoji Consumer Knowledge - M-Series 6WT Review

“I fished mine with the new RIO smallmouth line in a M-Series 6WT and the rod handled all my casts and flies from the lightest nymph to the largest top water bug with no problems at all”.

“”Overall the M-series rods give an angler a huge amount of bang for their fishing dollars. Being a father of four and having to work a “regular” job daily I appreciate a company that builds a good product, gives me a lifetime warranty, and makes my precious dollars go farther.”
