Announcing the Release of the New JXP Fly Rod From Mystic
By Ryan McSparran
Introducing the JXP
We are thrilled to announce the release of the new JXP Fly Rods from Mystic. Several years in the making, the JXP has been designed from the tip down by Dennis Klein and our team here in the U.S.
Building on the foundation of Mystic rods that we all love, Dennis and the design team have outdone themselves this time. If you’ve been a fan of Mystic rods, you’re going to flip over the new JXP. If you’ve never had the opportunity to fish a Mystic, this is the rod that will win you over.
Fast Meets Finesse
The new JXP opens new doors for anglers at the intersection of fast and finesse. When describing this rod, our test anglers have used words like “snappy”, “energetic” and even, “holy $#*%”. It’s a rod with powerful backbone, a lively loading action and a sensitive tip with quick recovery.
The rod is accurate, it plays big fish with soft finesse, and it throws line like a laser. The ultra-lightweight design is a joy to cast, even after long days on the water. The new JXP fly rods are just plain fun to fish.
Designed and Assembled in the U.S.
Here at Mysic Outdoors, we’re proud of our heritage designing and building some of the world’s best fly rods right here in the U.S. We are proudly headquartered in Colorado. As with the entire Mystic family of fly rods, the new JXP was designed by Dennis Klein and our U.S. team.
We work with the best builders to implement our fly rod designs, and in the case of the new JXP, even the reel seat and cork grip were custom designs. Unlike some fly rod companies that slap their logo on off-the-shelf components, Mystic we take immense pride in the detail and the quality of our work.
Technology and Features
The JXP fly rods start with our proprietary graphite blank using multi-modulus blank construction. The JXP series of rods all feature titanium snake guides and stripping guides, keeping the entire package incredibly strong and lightweight.
The hybrid full wells grip is a new custom design and is made from super grade cork. The reel seat is also custom designed for the new JXP and is made with aircraft aluminum, hard-anodized titanium and a woven carbon fiber insert.
The JXP rods are all true to line size. We’re offering the JXP in 4-weight through 6-weight. They are all saltwater and freshwater safe.
You can order your new Mystic JXP fly rod here, or go cast one at your local Mystic dealer.
