Paint Creek One Fly UPDATE!
The PC1F Trophy went to Mark Piasecki and Mark Schwalbach – Well Done! |
The 2009 Paint Creek One Fly gathered 23 individuals and 6 sponsoring companies on September 26th for the accomplishment of three goals:
- promote the fun and camaraderie of fly fishing and fly casting
- focus a spotlight on Paint Creek and its story
- raise funds for a very worthy cause
The event raised $250, the net proceeds of which will be donated to Casting for Recovery.
The winning team caught a total of 13 trout. All teams caught a total of 16 trout and one duck! Erin Krause and Shawn Chalker were the only two to hit the 50 foot ring in the Mystic Fly Rods Fly Casting contest.
Thanks to our sponsors there was lots of food and prizes for everyone. By all accounts everybody had a great time, so we thought we'd convey that with a few photos; they tell the story better than anything else!
Many sincere thanks to the companies that made a contribution to the success of the 2009 Paint Creek One Fly!
2009 Paint Creek One Fly Rescheduled!
About the Event: You may participate as either an angler or a guide. As an angler your goal is to catch, measure and release as many trout as you can within the event fishing period. At the start of the day you must select a single fly for the event. Once you have selected your One Fly for the day, you must use that fly for scoring points. As a guide you will function as an official on-stream judge. There will be a maximum of 12 teams.
The One Fly concept is not wholly about fly-fishing, nor competitive fishing, but more about friendship, good humor, good times and raising funds for a good cause!
